๐ 2026 Trend: Indian small businesses increasingly understand that accounting is not just for year-end tax filing. Real-time financial visibility โ knowing accounts receivable, payable, and cash flow at any moment โ is what separates growing businesses from stagnant ones. Simple accounting features integrated into billing software have made bookkeeping accessible to kirana owners who never studied accounts.
Need simple business accounting and bank reconciliation for your kirana store or retail shop? Dhando POS includes core accounting features โ payment accounts (cash, bank, UPI wallets), accounts receivable (what customers owe you), accounts payable (what you owe suppliers), and P&L reporting. Accounting made practical for Indian shopkeepers, without the complexity of full-fledged accounting software.
Accounting Reports Available
These reports are generated from real transaction data โ every sale, purchase, payment, and expense you enter in Dhando POS contributes to your accounting records automatically.
Payment Accounts
Before reconciling, you need to set up your payment accounts โ the bank accounts, cash accounts, and digital wallets your business uses. In Dhando POS, go to Payment Accounts and add:
- Current account (HDFC Bank, SBI, etc.)
- Savings account (if used for business)
- Cash in hand account
- UPI wallet or payment gateway account
Every payment in the POS is associated with one of these accounts โ cash to "Cash Account", card/UPI to the respective bank account. This creates a real-time account balance.
Bank Reconciliation โ Step by Step
Download Your Bank Statement
Download a CSV or Excel bank statement from your bank's net banking portal for the period you want to reconcile.
Import to Dhando POS
Go to Bank Reconciliation โ Import Statement. Upload the CSV. Dhando POS reads the transaction date, description, and amount from the bank file.
Match Transactions
The system suggests matches between bank transactions and your recorded payments. Review each suggestion โ confirm matches or manually select the correct payment. Matched transactions are cleared.
Handle Unmatched Items
Bank charges, bounced cheques, or bank interest that has no corresponding record in Dhando POS โ create the missing entry directly from the reconciliation screen.
Mark as Reconciled
Once all transactions are matched and the closing balance agrees with the bank statement, mark the period as reconciled. The period is locked.
๐ For your CA: Once reconciled, export your Trial Balance and P&L report. These are standard accounting documents your chartered accountant needs for tax filing, audit preparation, and annual accounts. Digital records are far more reliable than handwritten registers.
Why Reconcile Monthly?
- Catch recording errors before they compound over months
- Identify bank charges and fees you may be unaware of

- Maintain clean books that are always audit-ready
Who Needs This?

- CA-managed businesses where the accountant wants clean digital records
- GST-registered businesses that need audit-ready books
